Walk n Work Hike – Lower Moose Hill Road

Our first ‘walk ’n work party’, and another nice walk with a little light maintenance to help keep up our beautiful properties. On this outing we’ll be putting up our new (and quite beautiful) pink plastic blazes over the worn paint on ‘The Good Sister’s’ Trail. It’s a great opportunity for young kids to help us find all these ancient paint dots and for everyone else to practice their skills with a hammer. As with all our walk’n work parties, this will all be work with hand tools … no chainsaws or heavy equipment are allowed. You’re welcome to join us for just the walk, but if you want to help blaze, a small tool belt with places for nails, a hammer and a stockpile of blazes is recommended. Please meet us at the lower Moose Hill Road entrance to Westwoods, just across from Landon’s Way. [est 1-1/2 – 2 hours]

Heavy rain will usually cancel any of these work parties, so if you have questions about the schedule, please feel free to contact me stewardship@guilfordlandtrust.org or Paul Proulx pauljproulx@comcast.net on the morning of each event. We’ll also announce cancellations or schedule changes by email, so it’s a good idea to check your mail before you leave the house. Paul also carries his cell phone (203-687-7756) on these events, so if you’re late and want people to wait, give him a call.
