Westwoods Plankwalk Inspection and Maintenance

We’ve received reports this past winter of rotted sections and boards that are in need of replacement. Indeed, Trail Angel’s have used some of the WWTC stockpile to patch over some of the more degraded sections. So our work today is to inspect the entire walk and repair where we can. If we find places that need additional time or materials, we’ll plan these for another day. We’ll have the basic tools and materials for rebuilding sections of the plank walk, but extra hammers and prybars will be useful, so please bring them along. Please meet us at the Peddlers Road trail entrance @ 2PM. [est 2 – 2-1/2 hours]

Heavy rain will usually cancel any of these work parties, so if you have questions about the schedule, please feel free to contact me stewardship@guilfordlandtrust.org or Paul Proulx pauljproulx@comcast.net on the morning of each event. We’ll also announce cancellations or schedule changes by email, so it’s a good idea to check your mail before you leave the house. Paul also carries his cell phone (203-687-7756) on these events, so if you’re late and want people to wait, give him a call.
