Walk ‘n Work – Westwoods at Peddlers Road

Another ‘walk ’n work party’, offering an opportunity to help the WWTC with a little light maintenance in exchange for a nice walk in the woods. Like our October W n’W outing, we’ll be putting up our new plastic blazes up, this time concentrating on Yellow (Circle and Square): perhaps the most interesting trail in the network. It’s a great opportunity for young kids to help us find all the existing and faded blazes and for everyone else to practice their skills with a hammer. As with all our walk’n work parties, this will all be work with hand tools … no chainsaws or heavy equipment are allowed. You’re welcome to join us for just the walk, but if you want to help blaze, a small tool belt with places for nails, a hammer and a stockpile of blazes is recommended. Please meet us at the Peddlers Road trail entrance @ 10AM. [est 1-1/2 – 2 hours]

Rain or significant snow will usually cancel any of these work parties, so if you have questions about the schedule, please feel free to contact me stewardship@guilfordlandtrust.org or Paul Proulx pauljproulx@comcast.net on the morning of each event. We’ll also announce cancellations or schedule changes by email, so it’s a good idea to check your mail before you leave the house. Paul also carries his cell phone (203-687-7756) on these events, so if you’re late and want people to wait, give him a call.
