Dudley-Barrows Woods Trail Maintenance

The White Trail, as is passes by the little pond near Reene’s Way, is infested with a number of the area’s most aggressive foreign invasive plants, and this work party is being scheduled to try and clean the area that’s reported overgrown over the summer. We’re looking for as large a group as we can assemble to put a significant dent in this troubled area. Paul will have the weed-wacker with the ninja blade attachment and we’ll need people with hand clippers to trim back branches too high for the machine. You should bring good sized hand tools (an old fashioned hedge clipper, well sharpened, is ideal), good boots and gloves, and meet at the Dudley Farm parking lot (at the NE corner of Rt. 80 and Rt. 77) at 10AM. Expect both poison Ivy and ticks, so dress appropriately(!) [est 2 to 3 hours]

Heavy rain will usually cancel any of these work parties, so if you have questions about the schedule, please feel free to contact me stewardship@guilfordlandtrust.org or Paul Proulx pauljproulx@comcast.net on the morning of each event. We’ll also announce cancellations or schedule changes by email, so it’s a good idea to check your mail before you leave the house. Paul also carries his cell phone (203-687-7756) on these events, so if you’re late and want people to wait, give him a call.
