In Memoriam – Carolie Evans
Carolie Evans died on January 4, 2014. Carolie spent decades working to protect important open space properties in Guilford. She played a critical role in the protection of thousands of acres of land in Guilford including the East River Preserve and many properties within the Westwoods and Bluff Head areas. Her methodical and patient approach to conservation was evident in meetings with landowners and donors and in the many hours she spent researching maps and deeds in Town Hall. Her legacy of open space in Guilford is unsurpassed.
In 2010, GLCT established the Carolie Evans Stewardship Endowment to sustain the Guilford Land Conservation Trust in the long term.
