Walk n Work Hike at Lower Moose Hill Road

Our first ‘walk ’n work party’ of the year, and a great way to begin the New Year both helping WWTC and enjoying a nice walk in the woods. Like all our W n’W outings this trail season, we’ll be posting our new plastic blazes, now continuing on Yellow (Circle and Square) trails. It’s a great opportunity for young kids to help us find all the existing and faded blazes and for everyone else to practice their skills with a hammer. As with all our walk’n work parties, this will all be work with hand tools … no chainsaws or heavy equipment are allowed. You’re welcome to join us for just the walk, but if you want to help blaze, a small tool belt with places for nails, a hammer and a stockpile of blazes is recommended. Please meet us at the lower Moose Hill Road entrance to Westwoods, just across from Landon’s Way. [est 1-1/2 – 2 hours]

Rain or significant snow will usually cancel any of these work parties, so if you have questions about the schedule, please feel free to contact me stewardship@guilfordlandtrust.org or Paul Proulx pauljproulx@comcast.net on the morning of each event. We’ll also announce cancellations or schedule changes by email, so it’s a good idea to check your mail before you leave the house. Paul also carries his cell phone (203-687-7756) on these events, so if you’re late and want people to wait, give him a call.
