Plank Walk Invasive Rose Removal at Peddlers Road

Our plank walk maintenance last spring identified a significant infestation of invasive multiflora rose along the walk, but we didn’t have the time to completely remove these plants. On this work party we plan to continue that effort, hoping to push the infestation further north and away from the heart of Westwoods. If you’d like to help, please wear thick gloves and a good pair of boots to keep your feet dry. And bring along hand clippers, loppers, and a good sense of humor. Please meet us at the Peddlers Road trail entrance @ 10AM. [est 2-1/2 – 3 hours]

Heavy rain will usually cancel any of these work parties, so if you have questions about the schedule, please feel free to contact me stewardship@guilfordlandtrust.org or Paul Proulx pauljproulx@comcast.net on the morning of each event. We’ll also announce cancellations or schedule changes by email, so it’s a good idea to check your mail before you leave the house. Paul also carries his cell phone (203-687-7756) on these events, so if you’re late and want people to wait, give him a call.
