Dudley Barrows Installation of Trail Posts at Renee’s Way

GHS teacher Dave Hackett and his talented students have constructed cedar trail entrance posts for a number of our trail entrances and we’ll be installing two of them today, one at the entrance to the Red Triangle Trail, the other on GLCT’s Little West Pond property, off of Gina Lane. We’ll be digging post holes, and have the basic heavy equipment to do this work, but welcome additional hands and tools. Gloves and good work boots are a must, but if you have any specialized post hole diggers or shovels, please bring them along too. Meet us at the green gate at the former Eversource power line crossing on Moose Hill road … it’s about 1/2 way between the two Moose Hill Road trail entrances. [est 2 to 3 hours]

Heavy rain will usually cancel any of these work parties, so if you have questions about the schedule, please feel free to contact me stewardship@guilfordlandtrust.org or Paul Proulx pauljproulx@comcast.net on the morning of each event. We’ll also announce cancellations or schedule changes by email, so it’s a good idea to check your mail before you leave the house. Paul also carries his cell phone (203-687-7756) on these events, so if you’re late and want people to wait, give him a call.
