Guilford Land Trust Replacing Guided Hikes by Highlighting Town’s Hidden Beauty

Though the pandemic continues to make many things impossible or unsafe and cold weather looms, the Guilford Land Conservation Trust (GLCT) is hoping to remind people that there’s still plenty of time to get out and explore nature. It is offering special written guides and maps for some of Guilford’s most beautiful and least-know trails, hoping to help residents expand their outdoor knowledge and experience as the pandemic drags on.

GLCT Secretary Sarah Williams said the timing actually couldn’t be more perfect for getting out and exploring the town’s many miles of trails and hundreds of acres of preserved land, with fall colors just around the corner and GLCT just closing out an enormous acquisition in the Bluff Head area.

“People are hiking so much now,” Williams said. “We’ve never done descriptions [of hikes] quite like this.”
