Trail Rerouting – Westwoods: Lower Moose Hill Road Entrance

With the removal of the Eversource distribution lines several years ago, the utility is no longer clearing their right-of-way, and some of the trails crossing the low areas have become very overgrown. The Yellow Square is a particularly good example of this, and we’re using this opportunity to move it to higher ground where it will be both easier to maintain and passable in wet weather. This won’t be an easy job, as we’ll be cutting a new pathway along a cliff edge. We’ll need chainsaws, and loppers, and Paul will bring along the Land Trust brush cutter to help clear the rose and cat-brier. Heavy gloves, boots and work pants are a must, and bring along heavy hand tools to use. Please meet us at the lower Moose Hill Road entrance to Westwoods, just across from Landon’s Way. The lot can get filled on Saturday mornings, so please use street parking on Landon’s Way if it’s too crowded. [est 2 – 3 hours]

We’ll also announce cancellations or schedule changes by email, so it’s a good idea to check your mail before you leave the house.
