Juvenile Golden Eagle Spotted in Guilford

Board Member Ted Mankovich took this photo of a juvenile golden eagle flying over Land Trust property on Monday, November 10th. “We don’t get many sightings in Connecticut. They are often mistaken for vultures as adults since their markings are fairly indistinct as adults. This one has the characteristic juvenile wing and tail white.” Thanks for sharing, Ted!

Edith Nettleton Bequest

Edith Nettleton was Guilford’s first professional librarian and a consummate historian and archivist. She worked tirelessly to ensure the proper preservation of Guilford’s history. When she died recently, at 105, she left GLCT an unexpected gift of $17,000. GLCT is honored to be the recipient of such generosity from someone who cared so deeply about our town.
