Loop 13 Trail Work – Westwoods Lower Moose Hill Road Entrance
Today we’ll be hauling platforms down the Blue Rectangle Trail to construct a boardwalk across a perpetually muddy section of the Yellow Circle/Red Triangle Trail, just east of Great Harbor Brook. These are half-sections salvaged from the Clinton Marina last year, modified by WWTC member Paul Sanders, so they’ll be fairly easy to manage. We plan to bring 4 of them down, so extra help will be most appreciated. All that you need to bring is a strong back and enthusiasm. Work boots and good gloves are recommended. Meet at the Lower Moose Hill Road entrance to Westwoods, just across from Landon’s Way. [est. 1-1/2 – 2 hours]
Heavy rain will usually cancel any of these work parties, so if you have questions about the schedule, please feel free to contact me stewardship@guilfordlandtrust.org or Paul Proulx pauljproulx@comcast.net on the morning of each event. We’ll also announce cancellations or schedule changes by email, so it’s a good idea to check your mail before you leave the house. Paul also carries his cell phone (203-687-7756) on these events, so if you’re late and want people to wait, give him a call.
