SUMMARY:Trail Building - Mill Pasture Preserve
DESCRIPTION:Invasive Advisor Jim Ballentine and Property Steward Dave Stein request help from WWTC to clear access trails at Mill Pasture\, which will allow entry into the interior of the property for monitoring and invasive plant clearing.  These paths may ultimately become hiking trails\, but public access has not yet been decided upon.  There would be some chainsaw work\, but mostly require loppers\, hand saws and possibly the ninja blade weed wacker.  With lots of thorny plants\, leather work gloves\, and good boots are recommended.  Please join us if you can.  This property is located on the corner of Rt. 1 and Long Hill Road\, with access and parking on Mill Road and parking also along the side of the road across from the Tile Shop and the VFW.  [est 2  – 3 hours]

SUMMARY:Loop 15 Evaluation  -  Westwoods: Spencer’s Creek Entrance
DESCRIPTION:This is part of a survey walk planned to critically review all aspects of trail condition and location throughout Westwoods\, to capture other property information (like invasive plant siting’s\, graffiti\, etc.) and unauthorized use of the property. To record this information in the field\, we plan to use the Nomad Tracks app\, which is available on both the Apple and Android handhelds or tablets paired with Loop 15 trail map.  If you’d like to add your expertise to our land review\, request <<stewardship@guilfordlandtrust.org>> and load the map\, put on some nice comfortable walking shoes and maybe a jacket\, and join our walk in the woods.  Please meet us at the Spencer’s Creek entrance on Three Mile Course\, just slightly south of the Medad Stone tavern.  If there’s not enough room to pull off the road\, you can park up the road at the Cox School..  [est 2  – 3 hours]
