Loop 13 Trail Work – Westwoods Lower Moose Hill Road Entrance
Our late April work parties began addressing the northernmost issues we identified with this loop, and now we’ll begin with those in the south. We have a number of unauthorized trails that we need to close (or re-close), and blazing needs to be added to both the Violet and Orange Circle and Red Triangle trails. There’s a bridge on the Blue Rectangle that needs to be raised onto new sleepers or stones, and an original log bridge on the Violet Circle that needs a good review. And finally, several muddy trail sections need log corduroy to make them passable without leaving the trail. Paul will be sure we have blaze materials, nails and ‘trail closed’ signage. We’ll need one or two chainsaws and hand tools (a pick or mattock, splitting maul, etc.) for the bridge and corduroy work. We’ll meet at the Lower Moose Hill Road entrance to Westwoods, just across from Landon’s Way. Use street parking on Landon’s Way if it’s too crowded. [est. 2 – 3 hours]
