This 2.5 mile loop starts from the ‘upper’ West Woods entrance, at the end of Dunk Rock Road.  The trail takes the old Dunk Rock Road for about 1/3 mile then follows a north/south loop following ridgelines and valleys, reaching up to the great swamp.

Trail maintenance work includes pruning and trimming of trees and shrubs, clearing trails of deadfalls. We’ll check out the blazing condition too, but may not be able to do any touch-up if it’s too cold. The crew will also report any trail problems that will take a dedicated work party, which will be then scheduled for a later date. Please meet at the upper Dunk Rock Road parking area. Bring work gloves, warm clothing and any hand tools you’re comfortable using.

We’ll have a chain saw available and paint/brushes for the blazing work.
